Hey. Sorry you haven't heard from me in a while. I've kinda just been taking a break from drawing
to focus on school. Y'know since the end of the year finals are a thing. But today is the last "full" day of school.
On monday, everybody is either gonnna ditch school, or go on the Field Trip the school has planned (To some carnival I think).
Then on tuesday, the entire school day is gonna be two hours. So we're pretty much just free from any work for three days. Then it's summer.
Don't worry: The reason I haven't been updating is because of school! NOT because i've lost interest in drawing. So: I'm probably gonna be posting a LOT more than I usually do.
But there are gonna be some changes:
Traditional art: is gonna be a thing. I tend to think that my traditional is WAAAy better than my digital. I'll probs make a folder for that nonsense specifically.
104(?) days of daily art: Starting June 20th, i'm gonna be drawing 1 piece of art everyday for the rest of the summer. (Probably in my sketchbook.) I'm usually only going to post the art that I think looks the best atm, so i'm not flooding everyone with daily art. (Unless people want me to post ALL of them.)
Also I got new pens: So my traditional is at an all time high r/n
ANYWAY!!! That's all I wanted to say. Hopefully people still care about me :U

In response to the tribal spear question: The closer you hold a weapon to its blade, the more control you have over the blade. Having a long handle on a spear is definitely positive, but that doesn't mean it can't be used like a dagger. In the Dark Ages/Renaissance, there are books on combat that show men wielding a sword like a warhammer, where their opponent is in armour, which is/was made of hardened steel. There's NO stabbing/slashing through that. So you either 1. grab the blade in a specific way to treat it like a dagger/spear,which gives increased accuracy/reliability when shooting for the spaces in the armour (neck, joints, groin, et cetera) called half-swording, or 2. you use the pommel/guard of the sword to treat it like a warhammer. The pommel isn't only there to balance the sword. It increases its versatility. The pommel, when used properly, is able to put a dent in the enemy's armour, as well as stun and, from the perspective of someone in one video I've seen, "make [them] sick to their stomach". Fun fact: using the sword as a warhammer is literally called the "Murder Stroke". However, his grip should be further apart. Else all the weight of the spear that he isn't holding makes it unbalanced and unwieldy, like using a mop with one hand directly over the other. The shape of the blade leaves a lot to be desired, honestly, if it were barbed it'd make an inward stab MUCH more devastating. It'd enter, and withdrawing it would cause much more damage on its way out. Inefficient tribe people

So. I made a character.
NAME: Merch Andise
NAME BACKGROUND: "Merch" is her regular birthname, but she changed her lastname. Literally just for the pun.
HER WHOLE SITUATION: Merch is a young, semi-hip, kinda-nerd girl. She is of the Scarveatarian race.
She lives in a massive city, called New Papyrus City. She lives in a small apartment, on the outskirts of the town. The apartment has no rent, so she can basically just live there for as long as she desires tbh.
She often plays a banned card game called "Death By Paper". And she's quite good at it.
APPEARANCE: Her skin is charcoal black, with large yellow eyes, and no pupils. But that is about as weird as she looks. She is moderately chubby, and she's got no hair on her dome.
She wears graphic t-shirts most of the time. The shirts are usually a size too big, so they slump over her shoulder. Revealing a bra strap. More often than not, she can be found wearing loose-fitting tights, and Velcro shoes. Her wardrobe goes with the logic of Functionality > Aesthetic.
Her apartment is small, and absolutely LITTERED with cards that she's collected. One day, she hopes to collect every single card. That might be impossible tho. Since there is about 2500+ cards.
